Traditional delivery pipelines split design, development, testing, deployment, and operations across specialist teams. Each handoff loses context and weakens the feedback loop between a design decision and its production consequences. Full-cycle developers own a service across its lifecycle: they design, build, test, deploy, operate, support, and improve it. This is enabled by strong paved-road platforms that make safe deployment, observability, rollback, and routine operations self-service. It also requires staffing, training, and management support; it is not a way to demand every specialty from fewer people.
